VSA arts Tent!
Children's Area
2008 Common Ground Fair

Join VSA arts of Maine in the Children's Area at the 2008 Common Ground Fair, Friday September 19th through Sunday November 21st.

Each day of the fair VSA arts of Maine will offer a multitude of hands-on arts workshops for children, youth and their families in the newly renamed VSA arts Tent. The arts workshops will include:

• woodworking,
• found-object sculpture,
• felting,
• weaving on an Earth Loom,
• puppet-making,
• musical instrument creations,
• fire-dancing,
• weaving with trees and more!

Each day will feature new and ongoing workshops on a drop-in schedule. Please stop in VSA arts Tent and explore your creativity while learning about the arts, nature and creative sensitivity to the environment. A complete schedule of arts workshops offerings and times will be available in September.

Volunteers and Artists Wanted: We are currently seeking artists who are interested in offering their skills to our program offerings in this area. We are also looking for volunteers to help us facilitate arts activities during the busy and exciting days at the fair.

Every two-hour volunteer receives free entry to the fair on that day and four-hour volunteers also receive a t-shirt & free meal ticket to eat in the Common Kitchen which is the best, yummiest food there!
